The TITAN will be all about endurance. There will be no seriously hard obstacles, We chose to run this event in the summer because Tansky can get a bit soupy in the Spring/fall, now that suits me just fine but I didn't want to see racers getting stuck in mud puddles and the like. The course length is yet to be determined but the general theory is that we intend to use our vast network of down-hill single track trails to decend on and 2 tracks trails to ascend on. This helps keep the single track in good shape and consistant from lap to lap, Have you ever been pissed at being the last group through a wet ruined uphill section and found that the advantage was all with the first wave of riders? We will try to lessen that occurance at the Titan.
Tire choices...any season other than summer, I would advise against a trials tire, but if is is a dry weekend, you never know, trials may be an advantage here. There is not alot of bedrock, but there are roots and buried logs, in general an intermediate knobby works well here.
Camping... There are 2 campgrounds very near, the closest being China Beach provincial , it is literally right across the highway, from our access road, The access road is a public/gravel road. and technically we are not allowed to ride unlicenced bikes on it but we tend to keep a low profile and the rcmp have left us alone, but be aware, you have no insurance if you hit someone or something on that short stretch of logging road.
The next closest campground is about 2 km away, The Jordan river Beach Campground, this is right on the ocean at the surfing beach, just beautiful. this site is run by Western Forest Products Ltd. 10 kms away there is French beach provincial campground.

Cool shots Andy! Definately gives riders that havent been there a perspective on the riding area. Looks fun! Can't wait!
